Keyshot tests by BenMauro Keyshot tests by BenMauro
Some quick keyshot tests of the robot from last week, figuring out how to breakup the model with polygroups to get multiple materials etc in the program, pretty fun stuff. Will try to finish the model at a later date based on where some of details went in the first paintover (you can see how rough it is in areas) and put up a proper grey render of the model this week.

keyshot is a pretty amazing program... do you mess around with the material templates or do you just like to tweak materials when your in keyshot?

How many passes did it take to get this render?

I know this is zbrush and not cycles but even with blender's cycles engine, i do 750 passes and i still get a grainy disaster... I've been trying to find out how to fix it :(

Love your concepts and design work though. you're a huge inspiration to me :)

This is all Keyshot with 1 render, straight out of the program. All materials are assigned on the model, this was a test to try to get everything to just render 1 time right out of the program with little to no PS work.

ah. Guess we're not on the same page. Cycles uses 'Passes'. each pass renders the image as a dynamic voxel. With each pass it improves just a little bit more.

still an awesome render. i can't get enough of your work!

Kinda hard to see a big difference imo, maybe have the mat you're trying to show off a bit more obvious in their shots... :)

Good god. Wow. Brother, this is truly something, looking forward to the grey render! :)

Is this for a personal project or for work?
